Are you sick of the cold winters? Do you often find yourself reminiscing upon sunshine and beaches? Do you feel like maybe it's finally time for a change? If you answered yes to any of these questions, perhaps a move to Central Florida is in your future!
But before we start, let's be clear about what constitutes as "Central Florida." According to Wikipedia, "Central Florida tends to be thought of as the area around metropolitan Orlando, including Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Brevard, and Volusia counties. Polk, Flagler, and Sumter counties are considered by some, including the local media, to be part of Central Florida."
Okay, now that that's out of the way, these 6 great reason to move to Central Florida will definitely have you daydreaming of a staycation.
1. Close proximity to...everything
Blue springs, theme parks, beaches and cities; depending on where you choose to live in Central Florida, you're bound to be at most two or three hours from many of the state's best features! For example; being in Tampa I am two hours from Orlando, two hours from Ft. Myers, and two hours from Gainesville.
2. It's relatively "hurricane-proof"
If it's the threat of hurricanes that is keeping you from moving to the Sunshine State, then you can find some comfort in knowing that several areas in CF are relatively "hurricane-proof," at least compared to surrounding coastal cities. You know how it's a hot topic that Miami is often flooded during King Tides? Not so much of a problem in Central Florida. Though nowhere is 100% safe from hurricane damage, depending on how inland you are, chances are that you're in a better position when hurricane season rolls around. Oh, and for this reason it could save you on property insurance when compared to high-risk flood zones.
3. Infinite Moving makes it super easy
Okay, let's be honest. The act of "moving" is probably what deters most of us from doing it. They also offer a variety of services when you are in need including senior moving, apartment relocating, and furniture pick up and delivery! 4. It's affordable
Depending on where you choose to move in CF, you can get more bang for your buck when property hunting. For example, according to BestPlaces.net, "Miami housing costs are 122.6% more expensive than Ocala housing costs." There are several affordable locations in CF to choose from, including Homosassa (close to many blue springs), New Port Richey (close to Tampa), Ocala (Florida's farm/horse central), and Kissimmee (close to Orlando's theme parks).
5. You get discounted theme park tickets
If you're moving here from out of state, you will be pleased to know that many of Florida's massive theme parks offer state residents discounted tickets; and you know, being so centrally located means you can visit way more often!
6. Lots of job and school opportunities
Some of the best colleges in the state are located in Central Florida, and because the tourism industry is so big here, there are always job openings! It's a huge bonus that we have oceans too -- that opens up a whole new world of career opportunities like marine biology, scuba instructing, and of course, even deep sea fishing!
