If you're looking for things to do in Central Florida for Father's Day, the Festival Of Bacon at Lake Catherine Blueberries, a local U-Pick farm in Groveland, Florida, is officially slated to occur this June 19 and 20 --the weekend of Father's Day!
A lot of information such as exact times, vendors, etc, has yet to be announced, but here's what I found out: Tickets are $15 for 1-day General Admission or $25 for 2-day, plus applicable fees, and parking is not free but ranges from $5-$15. GA tickets include limited sample tastings, or you can upgrade your ticket to $75 and get:
Personally, I would go with the GA admission because you can still get food from the vendors, plus I also don't drink. But don't let me influence your choice! The festival is in benefit of several local charity organizations including Faith Neighborhood Center, Serving Out of Love and American Culinary Federation Gulf to Lakes Chefs & Cooks Association. Though the vendor line-up hasn't dropped yet, the organizers are predicting upwards of 100 to be in attendance. "We are expecting over 100 vendors and plenty of food and drinks for the whole family! Featuring popular music acts to be announced," a portion of the Facebook event page reads. This will be a kid-friendly event! You can keep an eye on the Facebook page event for more information here or if you're ready to reserve your spot, tickets are already on sale through their website here.
