In the wake of the tragic death of Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link, the Lake County community has shown an extraordinary outpouring of support and solidarity, according to information shared by the department on their social media. Master Deputy Link, 28, was fatally injured in the line of duty while responding to a disturbance call in rural Eustis, where two other deputies were also shot. Since the announcement of his passing, residents, local businesses, churches, and organizations have come together to honor Deputy Link’s memory and support his family. Their collective response has been a powerful testament to the impact Master Deputy Link had on the community. "The outpouring of support during this most difficult time for our agency has been nothing short of overwhelming. Words cannot express the gratitude that we have for every single church, restaurant, business, and individual citizen reaching out with cards, words of encouragement, prayers, and donations of food for our employees," the department wrote, in part, on Facebook. In addition to food donations and kind words, the community has rallied to support the Lake County Sheriff’s Charities, Inc., which provides aid to agency employees and their families in times of need. Donations can be made at Lake County Sheriff’s Charities. This unified show of support reflects the deep respect and admiration the community holds for Master Deputy Link and his service. "We thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts," said the department. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out, and continues to keep Deputy Link’s wife, Brittney, his parents, Christi and Daniel, and the entire community in their thoughts during this time of mourning.
