1/9/2025 0 Comments Florida AG Joins Trump in Pushing Back Against Biden’s ‘Failed’ Immigration PoliciesAttorney General Ashley Moody has never been shy about voicing her opposition to the Biden administration’s border policies. Now, as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office, she is doubling down on her support for his pledge to “clean up the mess” on day one. In a fiery statement shared yesterday, Moody condemned the past four years under Biden as a “dereliction of duty,” claiming they allowed over 10 million illegal immigrants to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. She also argued that the resulting chaos empowered transnational criminal organizations, leading to an influx of fentanyl and contributing to more than 100,000 overdose deaths annually. “The last four years, we have seen the Biden administration ignore the rule of law, destroy any semblance of order at our Southwest border, allow millions of unvetted illegal immigrants into the country and put the safety of Americans at risk. We have aggressively fought back in court against these unlawful and irresponsible actions and won many legal victories. However, the Biden administration never stopped creating new unlawful policies,” Moody stated. As Trump’s return to the White House nears, Moody and a coalition of 18 other Republican attorneys general are aligning themselves with his hardline immigration agenda. In a joint statement, Moody and her colleagues wrote, “As chief law enforcement and chief legal officers in our States, we Republican attorneys general are grateful that President Donald J. Trump will restore the rule of law by securing the border and ending the disastrous Biden Administration policies that caused a historic surge of illegal immigration into our country. The Biden Administration took dozens of executive actions that weakened border controls and sanctioned illegal immigration from around the world. Republican attorneys general fought back by taking the Biden Administration to court for ending successful Trump Administration immigration policies and replacing them with new policies that violated the law and encouraged illegal immigration. The Republican attorneys general prevailed in virtually every one of these lawsuits.” Moody also reflected on Trump’s “America First” immigration strategies during his first presidency, which she credited with reducing illegal immigration to record lows and restoring order at the border. “As the country looks forward to change in administrations, we are excited to have a president who puts the interests of Americans first. I am proud to stand with my colleagues from other states in support of President Trump’s immigration plan to reverse the dangerous policies enacted by the outgoing administration on DAY ONE,” Moody declared. The group has also pledged to support Trump in deporting dangerous criminals and reversing what they described as Biden’s “failed” immigration policies. To read the full statement, click here.
