Floridians really stepped up their game this year when it came to exercising their right to vote. Florida’s turnout percentage in the 2024 General Election was higher than it has been in the past 30 years. According to the unofficial results of the General Election on Florida Election Watch, about 10,986,175 million Floridians out of Florida’s 13,949,168 million registered voters decided to vote. That is approximately a 78.76% voter turnout. The Sunshine State has not seen a turnout percentage this high since the General Election of 1992, which had an 83% voter turnout. That year, the candidates in the Presidential Election were Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush. This year in Florida, Franklin County had a greater turnout percentage than any other county at 94.1%, and Miami-Dade County had a greater voter turnout than any other county at around 1.1 million people. Comparatively, Hardee County had a lower turnout percentage than any other county at 62.68%, and Liberty County had a lower voter turnout than any other county at 3,509 people.
