Free Family Flicks Under the Stars to Return to This Florida City in 2025

Looking for free things to do in Florida with your family? The North Port Parks & Recreation Department is bringing back its Movies on the Green event in 2025, offering free flicks under the stars at the City Center Front Green.

This beloved community event transforms the City Center's Front Green into an open-air cinema, offering free, family-friendly movies on select dates throughout the year.

According to a press release from the City of North Port, this year's lineup includes blockbuster hits, fan-favorite sequels, and a chance for would-be event goers to cast a vote for the final movie showing in the Spring Series at NorthPortFL.gov/MOG.

As of publication, the Spring Series lineup is set to include the following showings:

• Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m.
  Wonka (2023)

• Feb. 28, 6:30 p.m.
  Inside Out 2 (2024)

• Mar. 28, 7:45 p.m.
  People's Choice as decided by vote at NorthPortFL.gov/MOG

All movies will be shown at the City Center Front Green, located at 4970 City Hall Blvd. All ages are welcome, and the event is designed to be accessible and inclusive for everyone. Admission is free, with local food truck vendors on-site offering snacks and refreshments for purchase.
The North Port Parks & Recreation Department also encourages event-goers to bring lawn chairs and blankets for maximum comfort during their evenings under the stars.

The Parks & Rec Department is also seeking additional vendors for Movies on the Green and other up-coming events in the city; those looking to set up shop and serve their good eats and sweet treats to the community are encouraged to submit an application online at NorthPortFL.gov/Community-Recreation/Events.
