From 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. this Fourth of July, the Floridian Social, featuring DJ Hogie, is hosting its second annual hot dog eating contest in downtown St. Pete. Anyone 21 years old or older can attend. This is a free event if you RSVP here in advance. If guests do not RSVP ahead of time, it costs $5 to get in at the door. While doors open at 4:00 p.m., the hot dog eating contest starts at 5:00 p.m. The winner will receive the title of “2024 Hot Dog Eating Champion at the Floridian Social” and a prize of $500. Email [email protected] to participate in the contest as a “Glizzy Gladiator”. Following the contest, DJ Hogie will be exclusively spinning butt rock inside the Floridian Social through 10:00 p.m. This venue has standing room only on the general admission floor with first come, first served bar seating. As a restored historic building originally built in 1924, the Floridian Social notes that it does not have elevators to its second floor. The Floridian Social also says that two-hour parking is available on Central Avenue, First Avenue South, and First Avenue North near the venue. Otherwise, the venue suggests that guests use the ParkMobile App to find and extend parking from their phones. Valet parking is not offered at this time. Article by Ema Tibbetts
