Miami-Dade County Animal Services is urgently appealing to the community as over 600 pets currently await adoption, hoping to find their forever homes. To make the process more accessible, the shelter has announced extended weekend hours. The shelter will now be open from 9a.m. to 5p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. With hundreds of dogs and cats in need, from playful puppies to senior cats, the shelter ensures there is a perfect match for every family. Every pet is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready for a fresh start in a new home. Each year, Miami-Dade County Animal Services cares for 15,000 lost, abandoned, injured, or abused dogs and cats and provides vaccination and sterilization services to 20,000 community cats. The department works tirelessly to find permanent homes for these animals through onsite and offsite adoptions, partnerships with rescue organizations, and volunteer support. For those who cannot adopt, Miami-Dade Animal Services also encourages fostering, volunteering, or donating to support the care of these animals.
