TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has expanded its voluntary recall to include all frozen waffle and pancake products manufactured at a single facility, following concerns of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. This expansion affects all frozen toaster waffles, Belgian waffles, and pancakes that are still within their shelf-life. The affected products, distributed across the United States and Canada, are sold under multiple brand names at major retailers, including Albertson's, Aldi, Dollar General, HEB, Kroger, Publix, Target, and Walmart. Consumers can identify the recalled items by checking the UPC, Lot Code (which begins with 2C), and Best By Dates printed on the cartons. Listeria monocytogenes can lead to serious illness, especially for vulnerable populations, including the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include high fever, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, with risks of miscarriage and stillbirth for pregnant women. Consumers are urged to check their freezers and discard any affected products immediately. More information on the affected products and stores can be found here.
