11/14/2024 0 Comments Trump Nominates Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, Florida Representative is WorriedFlorida Congressman Matt Gaetz, the man who sponsored the JAIL for Alien Voters Act in October and then blamed the Barbie movie for distracting men from voting, has officially been nominated by Donald Trump for the position of the Attorney General of the United States. Trump posted his announcement to X at 4:23 p.m. on November 13. It included a long list of reasons as to why Gaetz is the best choice for the job. He praised Gaetz for being “deeply gifted and tenacious”, “distinguished”, and “a Champion for the Constitution and the Rule of Law”. In addition, he complimented Gaetz’s track record, saying how he achieved “desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice” and “played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systematic Government Corruption and Weaponization”. President Trump’s plans for Gaetz include bringing an end to “Weaponized Government”, protecting “our Borders”, dismantling “Criminal Organizations”, restoring “Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department”, rooting “out the systematic corruption at the DOJ”, returning “the Department to its true mission of fighting Crime”, and “upholding our Democracy and Constitution”. Gaetz reposted Trump’s announcement with a note of acceptance the same afternoon. “It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General”, he stated. Florida Representative Anna V. Eskamani, a Democrat, also weighed in on the announcement via X, saying that “Trump's nomination of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General is a dangerous move for our democracy and collective security”. She stated that she “would be laughing if it wasn’t so unsettling”. Article by Ema Tibbetts
