No matter if you are planning a large family vacation or a solo trip it is extremely important to use a daily trip planner. Here are a few of the key reasons why (and don't forget to download Uncovering Florida's free 3-day trip planner at the bottom of the page!)

1. Easily plan activities for different age groups- With so many family-friendly things to do in Florida it's important to remember that is fun for one age group may not be for another. For example, recently my family and I went on a vacation to Volcano Bay, a Florida waterpark. I noticed that 10-13 year olds loved it, however, for children in the toddler range (as my son is) it wasn't quite as exciting. In fact, it was costly to just go for the kiddie area! 

2. Save money- Planners are an invaluable source when it comes to writing expenses down and acknowledging them vs your budget on paper. For example, by pre-planning to eat certain meals in your room (as opposed to ordering out every night) you can save a lot of money to spend on other things like tickets to parks and activities! At very least, you won't be surprised by the cost of activities if you plan for them ahead.

3. Organize your "free time"- The point of vacation is to relax--although, I think most of us can agree that we leave a vacation feeling like we need a real vacation. I personally like to include designated days/times in my planner that allows for nothing but a little R&R. Maybe that means making time to go to the resort spa--or just a simple walk on the beach! 

4. No scrambling to find out what you want to do at the last minute- When you plan a vacation somewhere you probably already have an idea of the things you'd like to do and experience. While time may allow you to do all of those things, it's probably not likely, and there's nothing more disappointing than expecting to do an activity only to find out you didn't reserve it in time! You should use a planner to write down your top must-dos at least a week in advance and what you need to make them happen. You can use the note section to write runner-ups if those things don't work out.
