A FREE adult scavenger hunt is reportedly taking over Tampa Bay's popular Riverwalk soon--and tickets to the event are going faster than expected. "So we sold out in 24 hours," said the event organizers on Instagram, furthering that in response to the high demand for tickets, additional tickets will be released periodically until the actual day of the event. Uncovering Florida reached out for additional details and after chatting with Joe from Tampa Bay is Awesome, one of the event organizers, we learned that while tickets are free, they are required for attendance. "We will make a few more tickets available every few days leading up to the event," Joe confirmed. The free scavenger hunt will feature little treasure boxes and satchels containing $20-$100+ gift cards carefully hidden around the Riverwalk for attendees to find. "These little treasures will be hidden all along some special stretches of [the] Riverwalk," the promotional video states in part, showing a preview of the treasure chests and "pirate's booty" bags. According to the event organizers, Tampa Bay is Awesome and Funtampa, the scavenger hunt will commence on June 1 from 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. at The Sail Plaza 333 South Franklin Street, Tampa and attendees must be 21+ to enter. This is the first scavenger hunt hosted by Funtampa and Tampa Bay is Awesome, but Joe says that they expect to host more in the future. Uncovering Florida was told that at this time the best way to score your free ticket is to follow the pages and wait for announcements about bonus tickets being released randomly over the next few weeks.
