According to a social media release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, three Florida teens have been arrested after stealing a vehicle and attempting to flee from officers. The incident occurred on October 28, 2023, when Hillsborough County deputies responded to the Riverview area after a stolen Jeep Cherokee was spotted driving on Symmes Road. Police say the vehicle was stolen the night before, as the teens were checking for unlocked car doors and were able to find the keys inside. Video footage accompanying the post show the teens attempting to flee in the vehicle as deputies initiated the arrest. Shortly after the deployment of stop sticks, the driver and two passengers ditched the vehicle and attempted to flee from officers on foot. Utilizing aviation, patrol, and K9 teams to track them down, Maziah Palmer, 14, Jeremiah Palmer, 14, and Bonnie Deltufo, 15, were all arrested and charged with various crimes, including Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. "I implore Hillsborough County residents to learn from this case," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Lock your doors and secure your valuables every night. I commend our deputies for their efforts as they worked as a team and tracked down these suspects." Article by Rachael Volpe
