6/7/2023 0 Comments A huge new pet-friendly food & event concept is coming to Winter Haven: Here's what we know so farThere's something about a food hall that brings communities together; whether you're a true Florida Foodie or someone casually seeking someplace new for date night, they have a little something for everyone. Unfortunately for foodies in Winter Haven, they've had to travel to Lakeland or Tampa to get their fix; but soon, that will no longer be the case, as a new, pet-friendly food concept known as Bowen Yard is set to come to the city later this year. Comprised of 6 on-site dining options and a large rec yard with pet-friendly shaded and furnished outdoor patios, string lights, and restrooms, the masterminds behind Bowen Yard, developer Six/Ten LLC and Aviva Design Studio, aim to create an active, open-concept dynamic food destination with the tag-line: "Gather, Eat, Chill" setting the scene — the idea being compared to similar locations such as Armature Works in Tampa and The Joinery in Lakeland. One full-scale on-site restaurant and bar will take up the bulk of the space, but who is set to fill that space has yet to be announced. Patrons will be able to walk from space to space with their cocktails in hand thanks to special permitting obtained by Six/Ten. SoCe Market will also fill out the area, and can already be enjoyed by Winter Haven visitors. SoCe is known for its quick, delicatessen-style bites, and recently unveiled a new hot-item menu. Their new menu features classic Cuban sandwiches, alongside Roasted Turkey, a Cherry Coke and Chimichurri glazed Roast Beef, "The Bump & Grind" featured on TikTok, Roasted Chicken and Pesto, and the vegetarian-friendly "Green Belt." You'll also find salads and baked goods served up at this spot. As of publication, Six Ten is also searching for 3 additional unique eat and drinkeries to fill the 750 square foot stalls, overall seeking to have a diverse and synergistic line-up that offers a lot of variety and flavors to potential future visitors. Each 750-square-foot stall will feature a storefront door with two windows, basic lighting and plumbing (including grease traps), a 96-inch hood system, and hook-ups for kitchen equipment. The interior will feature an industrial-chic vibe with steel beam ceilings, sealed concrete floors, and plain drywall that will give restauranteurs taking the spaces a blank canvas to put their finishing touches on from murals to furniture and décor accents. A mood board shared on Six/Ten's website gives potential patrons an idea of what to expect when Bowen Yard officially opens: The location is also set to feature space to host events, including live musical performances. "Not only does it activate a new space; it creates an environment where people can gather and connect, all while enjoying good food and music," assistant director of Main Street Winter Haven, Bailey Ault, told The Winter Haven Sun. Bowen Yard will be located at the intersection of 4th Street and Avenue D, South West in downtown Winter Haven. A ground-breaking ceremony to kick off construction is currently set for June 23. As of publication, an opening date is anticipated for some time this Fall — with an aim for October or November. While we'll still have a bit to wait for this food concept to open, the new location gives foodies and pet-friendly spot seekers alike something to look forward to.
