As the saying goes: dogs are a man's best friend. Apparently, though, Florida dolphins can be a dog's best friend — as evidenced by a video shared on Instagram of an abused pup and his new ocean companion. A post shared on August 6 by @Newyorkbullycrew details the story of Baldwin, a rescue that came into their care in 2020 after he was dragged for miles behind a moving truck. According to the post, a good Samaritan stopped the truck to save his life. "Seeing Baldwin with his injuries is an image we cannot get out of our heads." the Instagram post reads, in part. The accompanying video footage shows a badly scraped up and scabbed Baldwin clad in medical wrap to protect his bright red wounds. Backdropped by emotional music, the video flips through images and video clips of his weeks-long recovery to full health. Today, Baldwin has a loving family that's helped him thrive, and even introduced him to an unexpected friend after moving to Florida — a dolphin! Every day, Baldwin runs to the dock to see his new dolphin best friend, who swims about him and proudly shows him her baby. The post ends with loving words for Baldwin from the New York Bully Crew. "Baldwin, you are worth it. You are the reason we continue to do what we do. We are so thankful that your family adopted you and gave you the best life any dog could ever wish for. Happy life, precious Baldwin!" The video showcasing Baldwin's recovery and a moment with his dolphin friend can be seen by clicking here: Article by Rachael Volpe
