Armed robbery under investigation in Sarasota

An active investigation by the Sarasota Police Department is underway following an armed robbery that occurred on Monday, September 11, 2023.

According to a post from the Sarasota Police Department on Facebook, the armed robbery occurred shortly after 4:30 pm at a home in the 1600 block of 36th Street in Sarasota.

At least one shot was fired, but thankfully no one was struck or injured. As of publication, the investigation is still ongoing, and police are seeking public tips regarding the incident.
