It's hard to imagine a world without the buff-ness that is the Greek God Poseidon and his crumbling ruins gracing the world of Universal; however, that's soon to be the case. Fans of the Poseidon's Fury attraction at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure may want to plan a visit to the park soon, as it will permanently close on May 10. While closing to make way for new offerings, guests will have to wait a while to find out what's to come. As of publication, park officials have yet to announce and confirm what will replace the beloved opening-day attraction. However, rumors have been circulating about what could take over the extra space — such as an extension to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or implementation of another IP with a rich world, like The Legend of Zelda. Also closing this month on May 9, although only temporarily, is the Night Lights at Hogwarts Castle. The closure will reportedly be done to make improvements to the existing display. The soon-to-close-forever attraction looks much different today from its original iteration, yet the story has remained a favorite in the hearts of fans since 1999. This version had more ties to Atlantis, showing Poseidon fighting Zeus and leading guests through by a guide known as The Keeper. However, this version didn't last very long, and most may be more familiar with Taylor and Darkenon. The walkthrough attraction still guides guests on an exploration through the Temple of Poseidon, instead with Taylor being an assistant archaeologist for Professor Baxter. When you meet Taylor, she's unsure where to find The Professor but begins the tour anyway. Soon you and the crew will uncover n eerie inscription before receiving a message from Baxter. But before guests can escape, the voice of Lord Darkenon beckons the group through an open secret door, winding you through various temple rooms before happening upon Poseidon on Darkenon engaged in an epic battle. Poseidon's Fury was the last remaining attraction from The Lost Continent, save for the interactive Mystic Fountain. Other attractions have been closing since 2010 when the Flying Unicorn and Dueling Dragons in Merlinwood became Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge in The Wizarding World. The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad closed in 2018, followed by Dragon Challenge being replaced by Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in 2019.
