It's official — those looking to get in lost in nature through the Crews Lake Wilderness Park trails in Pasco County can now also get a bird's eye view atop a brand new observation tower. Shared 2 hours ago to the county's official local Government Facebook page, Commissioner Jack Mariano unveils the project in a short video clip. The video pans over the many sights one can expect to see on a visit to the park before stopping to show off the completed structure. "Now we've got a rebuilt tower that's great for the families to be able to come up here, take a look at nature and get a whole new perspective," announced Mariano. "I want to thank all the citizens of Pasco County that voted for those go-bonds so we can improve our parks." The observation tower features a tiered decking system, offering 3 different points of view of Crews Lake's sprawling waterfront. A climb to the top will nestle you amongst the tree canopies draped with Spanish Moss, the lush greenery providing a little shade from the Florida Sunshine while also making for a stunning view. Open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk, the 113 acre park in Spring Hill has a little something for every type of nature lover — whether you're looking for a casual stroll beside the surf, winding wildlife hikes, to test your limits on The Suncoast Trail, or even take a free train ride. In addition to the new observation tower, you'll find a paved biking path, sprawling ocean-view boardwalks, winding hiking trails, 21.6 miles of the 42-mile Suncoast Trail stretching from Hillsborough to Hernando County, scattered bird houses and a botanical garden ripe for bird and butterfly spotting, space for softball, baseball, basketball, horseshoes, fishing, a dock, canoe-access, and more. The idyllic setting seems to be a great spot for families, couples, and besties to make memories too — whether you're taking the whole gang to camp overnight at one of the primitive sites, or are looking reserve the outdoor amphitheater for great-aunt Cathy's 60th birthday for just a day. You can also bring your furry friend along for your nature escape as long as they're kept on a 6 foot leash or shorter. Pasco County asks that all visitors obey all onsite signage for keeping Fido and the friends he may meet on the trail safe. Those hoping to get their bird's eye view in atop the new tower can find Crews Lake Wilderness Park at 16739 Crews Lake Dr in Spring Hill.
