15-year-old Antonio L. Morris from Punta Gorda, Florida has been arrested by the Sarasota Police Department in connection with a shooting that occurred last week near St. Armands Circle, a recent case update states. According to the press release shared on July 31, 2023, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Jackson Drive and South Washington Drive in Sarasota shortly before 1 am on Monday, July 24, 2023. Two adult victims suffered minor injuries but were promptly taken to a nearby hospital. As stated in Florida State Statute 985.04 (2) (a) 1., information about juveniles charged with felonies is public record. Morris faces a felony charge of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Investigators continue to work to determine if others were involved in this shooting. As of publication, detectives believe that this was an isolated incident and that the public is not believed to be in any danger. The case remains active an ongoing.
