9/7/2023 0 Comments Florida Man attempts to rob bank in bright red bonnet, Sheriff's Office seeking public tipsOfficers with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred this week, and are seeking help from the public in identifying the suspect. According to a release on Facebook, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 2:17 pm, a suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 6298 West Waters Avenue. The suspect approached one of the tellers and passed a note claiming he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect then proceeded to flee the bank on foot in an unknown direction. The post is accompanied by a photograph of the suspect donning a bright red bonnet, facemask, and sunglasses obscuring their distinguishing features. "Attempting to rob a bank is not just a crime, it's a breach of the trust that holds our community together,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We, as law enforcement, are entrusted with the duty to protect and serve, and we take that responsibility seriously. This criminal will be brought to justice and face the consequences of their actions.” Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about this suspect to call 813-247-8200.
