Florida man steals Amazon truck & $49,000 worth of merch, police searching for suspect

The Miami-Dade Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify a man in Florida who stole an Amazon Truck filled with $49,000 worth of items, a social media post from the police department states.

According to the post made August 4, 2023, at 11:27 am, investigators state that the delivery truck was on its routine route making deliveries. On one of its stops, the driver exited the vehicle to deliver a package when an unknown subject hopped into the truck and fled the scene.

The accompanying video shows the unknown subject clad in what appears to be a purple t-shirt and beanie, a backpack of some kind, sunglasses, a chain and facemask around his neck, and gloves.

The man has a beard and mustache, as well as a prominent tattoo of difficult-to-read text on his right forearm; another tattoo peeks out from beneath the shirt's shoulder before we see the subject attempting to move the truck's dashcam after realizing he's being recorded.

The truck was recovered on SW 104 Pl. and SW 14 St. in Miami shortly after using GPS tracking technology; however, the $49,000 worth of merchandise within it was missing.
