Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have arrested two men for stealing thousands of dollars worth of construction materials, a press release states. According to the release, on October 16, 2023, deputies responded to Tampa Pavement Constructors, located at 5414 North 56th Street in Tampa, to talk to an individual about an incident at that location. Through investigative means and working with the business, deputies learned that supervisors had observed Antonio Vargas Bravo, 52, an employee, loading a truck of approximately $1,600 worth of paving materials and leaving the property. Deputies later conducted a traffic stop while Roberto Zaldivar Dominguez, 54, was driving the vehicle. Soon after, police say Bravo confessed to the theft and admitted to stealing additional materials from the business on October 11, 2023, and October 12, 2023. The approximate total of all the materials stolen is $30,000. "I am grateful to the employees at Tampa Pavement Constructors who were vigilant and then reported a crime when they saw it happening," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "These two individuals will soon pay the consequences for the materials they stole." Antonio Vargas Bravo and Roberto Zaldivar Dominguez were arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property. As of publication, this investigation is active; any further updates will come from the Public Affairs Office. Article by Rachael Volpe
