Looking for a summer of adventure or simply an excuse to take your family on a weekend of day trips? A nearly 4-month long program by Florida's high-speed train service, Brightline, returns for another year, offering deals for families looking to explore the Sunshine State by express-rail this season.
As part of their Trainee Summer Passport Program that begins Saturday, May 27, families with kiddos 12 and under can discounted fares on Brightline's tracks.
Kids' fares will be only $5 with the purchase of any adult SMART fare and will include complimentary admission for kids to top child-approved destinations across the Sunshine State, as well as opportunities for them to win prizes while they travel.
According to Brightline's website, children's tickets must be shown on the same date of travel at participating locations to redeem complimentary admission for the accompanying child. The locations where complimentary admission will be provided when showing their ticket are as follows:
So how do you earn those prizes?
When participating in the $5 ticket Trainee Summer Passport Program, kids can also follow the steps to become a "Brightline Trainee", collecting stickers for their passports when they visit any of Brightline's 5 South Florida stations and top local attractions to get prizes during the promo period.
Prizes will be given in increasing tiers after reaching a select number of stickers in their passport during the program period. The full breakdown of ticket tiers and their accompanying prizes is as follows:
You can also earn more goodies and a prize for the whole family by snapping a photo of your completed sticker passport and sending it to TeamMarketing@GoBrightline.com.
While adults will still have to pay for their tickets at participating museums, other fare discounts are also available for traveling families right now.
According to a release from Brightline, families with a party of 4 to 16 people can get 25% off select SMART fares using promo code ALLABOARD at checkout. The discount is being offered in celebration of tickets out of Orlando on their high-speed rails now being available for purchase, with prices starting at $79 per adult and $39 per kid.
These deals will be available through Brightline's website here between Saturday, May 27, and Tuesday, September 5.
