It was just yesterday when the WILD Florida Rescue updated their social media with a couple of photos of a sickly bobcat and a caption asking for the public's help. "Hello friends we have had lots of calls on the hotline to help this bobcat today," their post reads in part, furthering that before they could reach the animal, it had moved. "WFR has responded out to the location to help. However, when our rescuer arrived on scene the cat had disappeared." The rescue implored residents in Brevard County to keep a close eye out for the feline and to report any sightings to the wildlife team. A day passed without further word on the situation, but just a couple of hours ago the WILD Florida Rescue officially released an update about the case on their social media channels: "UPDATE: The bobcat has been captured and is on its way to care, we are not sure yet of the outcome but we will let you know . Thank you Dale, Kris and Adriane , NICE JOB and thank you to all the people who spread the request for sightings and THANK YOU Rockledge Police Department for contacting us so promptly!" While the outcome of the cat's fate has yet to be determined, many followers of the case are hopeful for a full recovery. "I pray the poor thing can be saved and enjoy health and good food and drink in safety. It had suffered alone for so long," one of the Facebook post commenters noted. This is a developing story as Uncovering Florida will update when more information is released. Update 7/21/22: The bobcat unfortunately passed away while on the way to receive help. The rescue released the following statement late on July 21: "Unfortunately it is with great sadness we must say despite our teams best efforts the bobcat passed away peacefully in the rescue ambulance on the way to the vet."
