4/7/2023 0 Comments Florida's only spring-fed water park to remain 'fully operational' through holiday weekendNot everything will be closed in observation of the upcoming holiday weekend, including Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, which announced that their spring-fed waterpark, Buccaneer Bay, will indeed remain "fully operational" through Easter Sunday. "Buccaneer Bay will be fully operational tomorrow for Good Friday through Easter Sunday. We highly recommend arriving early due to the holiday weekend," their social media post made yesterday stated. What's more, on Saturday April 8 the park will be hosting an egg hunt for children of different age ranges centered around the park's swimming areas. This child-friendly event will be included in the price of admission, which is $13 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12. While the swimming area at the park is open daily, the water slides, lazy river, and kiddie pool are open only on Saturdays and Sundays until May 26 when they open daily for the summer. For more information on times, tickets and more, you can visit Weeki Wachee State Park's official website here. About Weeki Wachee: Weeki Wachee State Park is a Florida state park located in Spring Hill, Florida. It is best known for its underwater mermaid shows, which have been performed since the mid 1900s in the park's natural spring. In addition to the mermaid shows, the park also offers riverboat tours, wildlife shows, and of course, the water park. The park's main attraction is the spring-fed Weeki Wachee River, which flows through the park and is a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. The river is crystal clear and provides visitors with a unique opportunity to observe the local wildlife, including manatees, fish and birds.
