If you don't already have plans scheduled for April 22, you may want to pencil in a visit to the only bacon and beer event in Volusia County, the Deltona Bacon and Brew Fest. "Deltona Bacon & Brew Fest is not your average festival [...] This festival will be partnering with Backpack Buddies and the assistance of dozens of volunteers from the community. With the help of our beer sponsor, Daytona Beverages we will be raising money to help support Backpack Buddies to alleviate hunger in Volusia County," the official event website states. The website furthers that besides hosting a medley of craft brewers, food vendors will be premiering bacon infused items including dishes like chocolate covered bacon, bacon flavored kettle corn, bacon dips, bacon funnel cake, deep fried bacon, grilled cheese with bacon and more. It is also confirmed that there will be non-bacon items for those who are vegan/vegetarian. This event will be hosted at 1200 Saxon Blvd., the Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex, from 12p.m.-5p.m. and it is totally free to attend, but for an upcharge you can have a VIP ticket that comes with extra goodies. VIP tickets, which require ID to pick up and are non-transferrable, are $75 and include access to a tent, buffet, two drinks and the brewery lane. What's more, according to the event's "about" page, this event is kid-friendly and will feature a "Kids Zone" for children. Besides food and drink, there will be live entertainment including a bacon eating contest, and item vendors. For more information you can check out the event website here.
