As Hurricane Idalia continues to travel northbound, flooding remains persistent across Tampa Bay, so much so that Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office police are responding to reports of trapped vehicles. "We are encountering numerous vehicles trapped in floodwaters," a post by @HCSO to X, formerly Twitter, reads. "Please remain at home to ensure the safety of yourself and your families." The post is accompanied by a short video clip of flooding on community streets and a message from Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Our community's done a wonderful job keeping themselves and their families safe. Now is not the time to get complacent. It's not safe out on the roads. Please, be patient, we'll get you out on the roadways as quick as we can." said Chronister. To view a floodmap with real-time flood reports in Tampa Bay, click here.
