Have you ever tried Ranch flavored soda? A Bob Ross energy drink? Snacks imported directly from other nations? Probably not, but if you are up to the challenge or are looking for an unusual gift idea for someone else, you will want to make a stop into the weirdest candy store in Florida! Rocket Fizz is actually a franchise novelty shop that puts Willy Wonka to shame. With locations scattered around the nation, several are centrally located right here in the Sunshine State. 

I actually became acquainted with the novelty shop at their Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania location prior to my moved to Florida. Needless to say, I was quite pleased to learn that there are many Rocket Fizz storefronts near Tampa and I could still pick up my hard-to-find favorite snacks. This is one place that I truly feel like a kid in a candy store, if you know what I mean.

What is really cool is that even though each store is slightly different, one thing remains the same throughout: the company's speciality, as the name suggests, is flavored sodas. While you can find a variety of your favorite cola flavors, the real appeal comes from their array of oddly-flavored alternatives that are both good --and gross. 

How gross? Think of some of the things you would never want a beverage to taste like; they probably have it including Dirt, Barf, Black Olive, Enchilada and so, so much more. And sure, maybe that does not sound appetizing, but they make for a great conversation starter or party favor! 

That being said, they also have some flavor combos that are far from normal but totally delicious -- like peaches and cream, cucumber and peanut butter -- and don't get me started on their massive root beer selection (peep that Chumlee one below!) Who knew there could be so many root beer brands in one place?

And lest we forget their deliciously-flavored dictator selection. Stalinade, anyone? How about a serving of Cream My People? Can I interest you in a Seal Ya Later? The dark humor with these is real, but very appreciated by many. 

And just when you need a midday pick-me-up, you can head over to their energy drink section for one of these bad boys:

There is no deny that Rocket Fizz is soda (or pop) galore, and their seemingly endless candy selection is truly the icing on the cake.

They have sections of ethnic snacks from other countries around the world including England and Japan. As someone who lived in England for a year, it was refreshing to see they had Jaffa Cakes for a fraction of the cost of importing them myself.

Rocket Fizz would not be a true novelty shop without, well, novelty toys and objects! Small hands, life-size Bob Ross cardboard cutouts, a Bigfoot section -- you never know what kind of weird knick knacks you may find here and leave with, and that is all just part of the full experience.
