It's official: Tampa is one of the best beer cities in the nation

With so many great places to grab a cold one at, it's no wonder how Tampa made the top of Real Estate Witch's best beer cities list! 

According to their findings, Tampa is the eighth-best beer city in America, only beat by Denver, Portland, Las Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Portland and San Francisco. 

So, what qualifies the "best-beer city"? Real Estate Witch looked at the 50 most populous metro areas in the U.S. and compared their:

• Number of breweries 
• Density of breweries per 100 square miles
• Number of beers per brewery 
• Number of beer styles per brewery

Weighted together, Tampa is among the best cities for beer, with 83 breweries and 29 average beers per brewery.

While 8th place might not seem like a big deal, it's a pretty big jump in line compared to the other Florida cities that made the list including Jacksonville (39), Miami (43) and Orlando (44). You can see the full study here.
