According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, a local high school is currently on "controlled campus" out of an abundance of caution after receiving a report of a person with a firearm on campus. The information shared by the organization this morning noted that a person was located and thoroughly searched, however, no firearm was found. Out of an abundance of caution, a thorough search of Sunlake High School, located at 3023 Sunlake Blvd, Land O' Lakes, is still going to be conducted. Due to its proximity, Rushe Middle School is also on controlled campus. The Sheriff's Office will post an update when available and in the meantime, an increased law enforcement presence will remain at the schools while the search is conducted.
