Several gang associates, drugs, and weapons were taken off the streets by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) over the weekend in an operation they say is meant to eliminate violent crime in the Nuccio Area. According to the press release shared on August 13, members of TeamHCSO's Gang Unit, GRIT, Canine Section, and Street Crimes deputies from Districts 1, 2, and 5 conducted traffic stops on August 12, 2023 in the area of the Tally Ho Bar Lounge & Grill, where recent gang-related shootings had taken place. The operation started Saturday night and ran into Sunday morning, with deputies conducting multiple traffic stops. By the end of the operation, thirteen subjects were taken into custody, facing a total of 24 felonies. HCSO also seized four firearms, along with several amounts of drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and cannabis. Of the 13 arrested, 4 were known gang associates: Sherice Oliver, 33, with the Money Power Respect Gang, Eric Rejouir, 37 with the Trey 4 Gang, Marcus Carter, 29, with the Dirty Game Gang, and Anthony Payne, 22, with the 41 Boys Gang. "I want to commend the hard work and dedication of the different units that took the initiative to prevent violent crime and gang activity," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We will not have families in Hillsborough County victimized and pulled into a culture of crime that these gangs create." Charges included in the arrests include Drug Possession, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Possession of Firearms. While all traffic stops were conducted in the Tally Ho Bar Lounge & Grill area, there were no calls for service at the business. As of publication, this investigation is ongoing; any updates will come from the Public Affairs Office. Article by Rachael Volpe
