The secret is out: there's a haunted gothic-themed café hidden behind a bookcase in Tampa

There are so many great places to stumble upon in the city, but for those with a passion for mystery, spookiness, and gothic royalty, dubbed the "most haunted kava bar in the world," this one particular kava lounge in Tampa might just win your heart -- and soul -- over.

So, you're probably wondering where such a spot exists… SpookEasy Kava Lounge is located on the second floor of Stone Soup Company, in the heart of Ybor City. They are found upstairs behind the bookcase.

We won't spoil the mystery of how exactly to get in, but if it helps, their website says "you must enter through the bookshelf to discover our cozy abode."

When coming to an eccentric alcohol-free bar like this, you can expect to enjoy the atmosphere as well as their delightful menu with a wide selection of kava, botanical tea and coffee, served up in the skull of your enemies (kidding, kind of.)

They serve up an array of beverages but emphasize their kava products.

According to their website, "kava is used to reduce stress, prevent pain, and relax muscles. It helps with anxiety, trouble sleeping, and PMS as well. Large doses of Kava induces an effect known by the community as "Muddy," similar to the inebriation effect of THC."

SpookEasy Kava Lounge is open every day, so you can go check out this unique atmosphere with skull décor, royal drapery, witchy posters and moving art, accompanied by gothic-stylized furniture. Hello Insta-pic central! 

​This café is quaint which makes this a very cozy and comfortable place to meet with friends or to even just go alone.

The owner and bartender were absolutely a delight to be around and as far as conversation with them goes, the passion and vision oozes for this place.

During my time spent chatting with the bartender, she recommended I try a ‘Morticia’ kava tea and the house coffee.

Their house brew is made with "death wish coffee" which is known for being the most caffeinated in the world. So if you want my two cents, I highly recommend seeking out these two drinks when you go to this haunted hot spot.
