Maybe the pictures already gave it away, but if you're looking for an unusual adventure into a realm of wild imagination, a trip to St. Pete's Salvador Dali Museum must be on your bucket list.
Dali may be best known for his iconic "melting clock" painting, but there's so much more of his unique work to discover and fall in love with. Comprised of hundreds of Dali's original works, ranging in years from his earliest to his most recent masterpieces, this gallery will take you down a fine art rabbit hole of some of his best works. Art snobs could easily spend an entire day here, analyzing every brush stroke and meticulous detail skillfully illustrated in; but even those with a more simplistic goal -- perhaps those looking to kick off a date night in the city, or maybe just for something to pass the time during the heat of the day -- the gallery and gardens will surely keep you entertained for hours. Admission is $25 during peak hours, but there are several discounts you can take advantage of if you go at the right time or have a museum pass. The gallery is only half of the fun, however. From the gift shop full of Dali-inspired designs and trinkets, to the whimsical outside garden to match, there's so much to see and do here -- even the architecture is admirable. Just don't forget your camera because there will be photo-ops galore! All that exploration could really work up an appetite, and there's a cafe right in the lobby if you're just looking for something light. There are plenty of other great eateries within walking distance too, including the brand new St. Pete Pier, where you can grab a bite and watch the waves roll in. But without further ado, here is a gallery of photos to give you a sneak peek of the dreamland you can step into when you visit this popular city gem.
