Tubing Returns to One Of Florida's Best Springs

​As the days get longer and hotter, the appeal of Florida's clear blue springs become greater--and for good reason. Offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat, Florida's many year-round 72-degree oases attract locals and far away tourists alike. And with the advent of April's first weekend, one of the highest regarded of all will reopen for the season: Rainbow River State Park will once again allow visitors to float for hours down its natural lazy river.


Here is your essential guide to planning your visit:

Hours of Operation:

First Saturday in April to Memorial Day: Weekends only, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (last tram departs at 4:30 pm).

Memorial Day to Labor Day: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (last tram departs at 4:30 pm), open 7 days a week.

Labor Day to the first two weekends of October: Weekends only, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (last tram departs at 4:30 pm). (Please note: Opening times may vary due to weather conditions).

Mid-October to March: Closed.


Parking and Admission:

No parking fee; however, there is a $24 per person fee and a $2.00 State Park Admission Fee per person. The state park fee can be used to get you into the state park after your tubing adventure if time allows.

The park encompasses a portion of the Rainbow River, and visitors to Rainbow River State Park have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including swimming, snorkeling, hiking and picnicking along the river's scenic banks.

Tubing Regulations and Safety Guidelines:

Tube fare covers a single trip down the river which lasts about two hours.

While lifejackets are optional for guests over 6 years old, they are strongly recommended and should be worn and fastened at all times.

Children under 5 years old are required to wear and securely fasten a lifejacket while tubing.

Prior to participation, visitors must adhere to park policies and complete a waiver and release of liability agreement.
