Reader discretion is advised.* An unidentified woman was found dead Friday evening, March 17, by local law enforcement. Discovered tucked away in an alley in the 200 block of St. Pete's 37th street north, The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a 911 call from a neighbor, who was the first to find the body. "It's still early on in the investigation, but what we do know at the moment is we found a female victim, deceased, with upper body trauma." a Community Awareness Representative with the St. Petersburg Police told WFLA this evening. Crime scene tape, and what appears to be a blue house with a fenced area, can be seen in the shade behind her. The female representative continued to answer a barrage of questions from media on the scene, including inquiries about what time the body was found, how long it was there, if any of the neighbors were being looked into as suspects, or if members of the community should be concerned about their safety. "This does seem to be an isolated situation," the representative stated, "it's also being investigated....that's all the information we have at this time." Thus far, investigators have not confirmed any potential suspects and no one has been arrested for the crime; however, St. Pete PD encourage anyone with information to call the local sheriff's office or submit a tip by text, anonymously. "If anybody has any information, please come forward. You can call 727-893-7780; or if they would like to remain anonymous, just text your tip." She concluded. Those submitting tips by text message will text SPPD and their tip to 847411 (tip411). Once additional information about the victim becomes available and next of kin has been notified, St. Petersburg Police will be able to release more information about the victim's identity. As of publication, no further details have been made available. This is a developing story. Check back for updates. Article by Rachael Volpe
