Festivals and other large gatherings seem to be a thing of the past --well, at least since last year. While most annual festivals were either canceled or rescheduled in 2020, things seem to be looking a little more promising this year. As of publishing, the Florida Strawberry Festival is still set to take place at their Plant City location and tickets go on sale soon.
However, not everything will be business as usual. "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have decided to forgo headline entertainment for the 2021 event," the festival website states. This news may come as a disappointment for some, but the majority of other attractions are slated to still be a go. "Rides, livestock events, on-grounds entertainment, concessions, and exhibits will continue at this point," as currently stated on the official website.
That's good news for all the strawberry lovers out there! That means most, if not all, of your favorite fresh Florida strawberry-flavored and themed goodies should still be in attendance for your enjoyment.
The theme selected for the 2021 festival is "All Aboard!," marking the 86th year of the event. The theme was picked to "reflect enthusiasm for togetherness." You can read more about the theme on their official press release. The 11-day event will be hosted from March 4-14, 2021 and admission tickets will be for sale (here) starting on February 4. Gate admission for ages 13+ is $10 --but you can pick up discounted tickets from participating Publix stores around Central Florida. There is no word on the official site yet on if masks, social distancing, crowd limitations and other additional health and safety measurements and rules will be implemented during the time of the event at the fairground.
