Do you love art? How about getting lost in an immersive almost-psychedelic place? If you answered yes to either of those (or better, both) then a trip to the Imagine Museum in downtown St. Pete is a must. I went for the first time last week and it was truly an experience I won't soon be forgetting.
I was invited as a guest to enjoy an exclusive event in celebration of the Blue Madonna new exhibit featuring world-renowned artist, Gottfried Helnwein, which meant I had two full hours to meander the museum almost entirely on my own--picking out the coolest and best spots throughout. What's more, prior to my visit I thought I wasn't the sort of person who has the best time at art museums. However, it's there that I discovered it's not that I find art museums boring, rather that I prefer those with immersive exhibits--and this one was nothing short of that. With three floors full (and I mean FULL) of stunning glass artwork, I can attest to there being at least one exhibit here that anyone could enjoy. From aliens with HR Geiger vibes to a room full of 1000 Buddha heads, the museum is rich in celebrating all cultures, fantasies, and artistries. The one complaint I did have: two hours was simply not enough time for me to enjoy the entire museum. I wish I could have stayed at least an hour or two more--but it's a great excuse to go back again soon. What I found most surprising of all, however, is that not many people know the museum exists. Anyone who lives in the area knows about the Dali Museum, but it appears as though the Imagine Museum doesn't get the same hype (it deserves it, honestly, plus it has its own parking lot!) In fact, personally speaking, I found the Imagine Museum to be more impressive than the Dali Museum by far. With glass sculptures larger and more intricate than you can imagine, mind-blowing is the only word to accurately describe the dozens of IM exhibits. âHere are some photos from my visit.
It was easily one of the best weekend trips I've had in a long time!
âIf you are looking for a place to host a fun date night or even just to take cute Insta pics at, you'll certainly want to put the Imagine Museum on your list. General admission is $15, and it's in close proximity of many otherfun things to do in Downtown St. Pete. âFind out more about the museum, including hours and address, here!
