Do you like getting involved in your community and being a part of activities that have a lasting impact? Grounded Gallery by Hao Penghe and the Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans are hosting a mural painting on April 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and it is free to come out and paint with them. This mural is being painted in honor of Earth Day. On the digital event flier, the hosts state that the goal of this event is to “reflect on our responsibility to the planet and work together to protect our shared home”. The hosts invite anyone who is interested to go participate during the nine-hour event. The completed mural will measure 15 feet by 10 feet, and it will be painted at Grounded Gallery by Hao Penghe. All painting materials will be provided. Grounded Gallery was founded by Hao Penghe in 2019, two years after Penghe graduated from Dalian Polytechnic University with a fine art degree. In addition, as of 2019, Penghe shifted his focus to global issues with the aim of using his art to “raise curiosity and awareness”. Currently, he specializes in oil painting, watercolor, and mixed media art and has won an array of art awards in his home country, China. For this mural, Penghe partnered with the Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans (SACA), which says that it is “so incredibly honored to be co-host for this meaningful event with Grounded Gallery”. SACA is a non-profit, member-based organization founded in 1982. If you want to join Hao Penghe and SACA to paint their mural on Sunday, April 7, then you can RSVP on the event page here. *Uncovering Florida is in no way affiliated with Grounded Gallery by Hao Penghe or the Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans and receives no revenue from visitor purchases.* Article by Ema Tibbetts
