Drum roll, please! Memorial Day marks the occasion that you have all been waiting for; you can now officially float for hours down the clear-blue oasis known as Rainbow River any day of the week on an inner tube. Rainbow River Springs State Park only offers tubing rentals during certain times of the year starting with weekends in April and eventually including weekdays for the hot summer months following Memorial Day. Tubing is an extremely popular activity any day of the week, so arriving early is key to ensuring you get a parking spot. According to the state park's website, from Memorial Day through Labor Day the tubing entrance located at 10830 SW 180th Avenue Rd, Dunnellon, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week and the last tram leaves at 4:30 p.m. Additionally, it is good to keep in mind that once the headspring reaches capacity for the day, no other vehicles will be permitted to enter. "Rainbow Springs State Park has very high visitation on weekends and holidays. When the park reaches capacity at the headsprings entrance, the park will close to all visitors. When the park is closed, vehicles may not wait in line in the park or on adjacent roads. Due to high visitation, Annual Pass sales are restricted to weekdays and non-holidays only," the park's website states. Tubing is $22 per person and will continue to be open 7-days a week until Labor Day, when it will go back to being weekend only until closing for the season in October.
