Living on one of Florida's most gorgeous waterways is something only many can dream of--but for a lucky few, it can be a reality. I was just at Rainbow River a couple of weekends ago and happened to notice a few properties directly on the water that were for sale. Like any true Florida spring lover, I had to know the details. Needless to say, they are all far beyond my price range, but that doesn't mean it's that way for everyone: so, if you are looking for the rare opportunity to score a prestige waterfront property with a slice of heaven-on-earth in your backyard, here's everything I found out about the few homes for sale right now on Rainbow River.
First and foremost, I want to brief you before getting your hopes up that if you want to live a life of luxury with a clear-blue spring steps away from your back porch, you will need to have at least a million or two on hand since that's about the going price of homes on the river right now. Real estate prices across the nation are inflated--especially so in Florida. According to a study posted on WPTV, Florida's housing market among the nation's most overvalued. If you're still with me after hearing all of that information, or if you can get a couple of friends to agree to pitch in on the dreamhouse of a lifetime, then continue on to find out current listing details.
Listed at $1,719,900, a four bedroom, two bath 4,295sqft property relatively far downstream of the headspring (closer to Blue Run) is for sale. Not only does it boast a lot of square footage, but it's in close proximity of many other things to-do in the area including restaurants, farmer's markets, and shopping!
The second river home I could find information on is listed at 1.8mil and is a modest three-bed, three-bath 1,950 sqft pool home on two and a half acres, including 182.75 feet of river frontage. What's more, it's downstream from the K.P. Hole tubing entrance and has a private dock overlooking the clear blue water. Arguably the best property of all, however, is exactly that--just property. Listed for 1.25mil, over an acre of property near the headspring can be all yours. While it has no buildings or hookups to speak of, it does offer a promising opportunity to build upon. Is it just me or do these choices almost feel like a House Hunters episode? If you could have any one of these properties, which one would you choose? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to check out my other articles on Rainbow River!
