While Florida is often renowned for its pristine beaches, they're not always as pristine as we'd hope. Sometimes trash, glass, fishing gear, and other unexpected items line the shores, and the sands find themselves in desperate need of a tidy. A waterway cleanup event hosted by the Old Salt Foundation at Madeira Beach will aim to make the shorelines just a little less cluttered, while also offering prizes to would-be helpers. As you volunteer to do your part to keep Madeira Beach beautiful, prizes will be offered in 8 separate competition categories. The winner in each category will win a gift basket with $50 gift cards to various Florida locales. The categories up for competition are as follows:
One can't clean the beach up on an empty stomach; event organizers will also serve lunch to volunteers completely free.
