Oceans may dominate our coastlines, but the blue springs in Florida are truly iconic. In fact, I would even venture to say there's nowhere else quite like them! (See my Devil's Den post for reference.)
But how do you find them all? An interactive map, of course!
Thanks to the Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute, this kind of map exists, and it highlights all the state's known natural springs.
And, not only does it show where the springs are, it gives you a blurb (and usually a photo) of each one when you scroll over it.
Now before you get too excited --not every spring on the map has crystal clear blue water. Our state is full of springs of all shapes, sizes, and colors, and this map will point out the good, bad, and "ugly."
Likewise, it's notable that only some of these springs are publicly accessible!
