Blue springs, theme parks, beaches and cities; depending on where you choose to live in Central Florida, you're bound to be at most two or three hours from many of the state's best features! For example; being in Tampa I am two hours from Orlando, two hours from Ft. Myers, and two hours from Gainesville.
2. It's relatively "hurricane-proof"
If it's the threat of hurricanes that is keeping you from moving to the Sunshine State, then you can find some comfort in knowing that several areas in CF are relatively "hurricane-proof," at least compared to surrounding coastal cities. You know how it's a hot topic that Miami is often flooded during King Tides? Not so much of a problem in Central Florida. Though nowhere is 100% safe from hurricane damage, depending on how inland you are, chances are that you're in a better position when hurricane season rolls around. Oh, and for this reason it could save you on property insurance when compared to high-risk flood zones.

Some of the best colleges in the state are located in Central Florida, and because the tourism industry is so big here, there are always job openings! It's a huge bonus that we have oceans too -- that opens up a whole new world of career opportunities like marine biology, scuba instructing, and of course, even deep sea fishing!
